- Is the venue available on my target date?
If you have a specific date in mind, find out if the venue has availability on that date. If not, you will have to move on to another venue or be flexible when selecting your wedding date.
2. How many guests does the venue accommodate?
This is a big question to ask a wedding venue. Many venues have strict restrictions and regulations regarding how many people the space can hold. Not only that, you need to get the specifics. How many can it sit for a plated dinner? How many for a cocktail style reception? This will be key in your venue selection search. You don’t want to fall in love with a space that can only hold half of your guest count.
3. What is the venue rental fee for my wedding date?
You will want to get a detailed quote for what all is included in your rental fee. Is the use of their tables & chairs extra or is it included in the cost? Make sure you know all the details regarding how much you will be paying and when it is due prior to signing the contract.
4. What is the catering situation?
A criritcal question to ask wedding venues: Is the catering in-house or will you need to bring in an outside caterer? Or is there a list of preferred caterers you have to chose from? Make sure you’re happy with the food situation – both taste and presentation – before you book.
5. Can I hold the ceremony here?
If you’re planning on getting married in at your church or different location, this shouldn’t affect you. But, if you’d like to hold your ceremony and reception in the same place (a convenient and budget-friendly move), you should make sure that’s a possibility.
