Tara and Shaun are both from Louisiana. While searching for the perfect venue, they knew they wanted to get married at a gorgeous vineyard. Far away enough to be considered a destination wedding, but close enough to where many of their family and friends could still attend. After months of research, they came across Crown Winery in Humboldt, Tennessee. And that is where the wedding planning fun begin.
My favorite part of planning destination weddings is when the bride and groom get to come in town to meet me for some power planning sessions. We would spend an entire day of wedding planning activities. Cake tastings, catering meetings, floral design consultations, and hair/makeup trials all in two days! No rest for the weary when planning a destination wedding.
I loved getting to know Tara and Shaun and being able to assist in making their wedding day dreams a reality. Thank you for letting Southern Sparkle make your wedding day dreams come true!
Added a little bit of Louisiana with the wedding cake ribbon pulls. Most popular in the South, especially around New Orleans, the Cake Pull gets it’s roots from an old Victorian tradition of “ribbon pulling.” In those days, charms of luck and good fortune were placed into the wedding cake by the bride for her single friends. Now a days, bakers place sterling silver charms with specific means inside the bottom layer of the bride’s cake and all the single ladies are given the opportunity to pull a charm from the cake (a ceremony called the “ribbon pull”) just before the cake is cut. This wedding was so much fun! Thank you to all our amazing vendors!
