One of the amazing things about the wedding industry in Jackson is how much it is BOOMING! There are so many venues in the West Tennessee area to fit your wedding vision. Each month we will pay tribute to these venues so you can get more information about each one and hopefully book your dream wedding venue.
We will kick off the Venue Spotlight with one of the newest venues in the area, Blessing Barn. For more information on the venue and to schedule an appointment for a tour of the space, call Dana at 731-694-0865 or send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to like and follow them on Facebook for updates and more photos of the gorgeous space.
Tell us about your venue.
Blessing Barn is a gambrel shape barn with a 40 foot tall ceiling in the wedding/reception hall. It has an inside capacity of 296 and is located in the country on a farm of 65 acres. The front entry barn doors were custom built and stand 8 feet tall by 8 feet wide. There are two more sets of the 8 x 8 foot barn doors that exit onto the lawn on the back end of the barn and on the back side of the barn. It has large Post & Beam construction on the inside and we decided to leave as much of the beams exposed as possible. The walls are covered with tongue & groove wood siding.
It has a 700 square foot Bridal Suite with two private restrooms. The Bridal Suite also has over 20 foot tall ceilings. The Grooms Quarters has leather furniture and two restrooms available as well. The Kitchen has quartz countertops, custom built cabinets, large refrigerator, large freezer, and is a caterers’ dream. A large custom built kitchen farm table, (8X4),dresses up the kitchen or can be used in the reception hall or outside on the lawn.
Since we have such tall ceilings in the hall, we installed some beautiful stylish up-lights that light up the ceilings. A large beautiful crystal chandelier hangs about 20 foot high in the hall. We have lantern lights inside the hall and outside down the sides of the barn.
We are able to host weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, corporate events, birthday parties, holiday parties etc.
What makes your venue different from other venues?
I actually think what makes our venue different from other venues would be the Post & Beam Construction, that was custom designed and built from the ground up by my husband. It’s an actual gambrel barn that is completely heated and cooled for year around use. We also are only six miles from the Jackson city limits, six miles from Humboldt and six miles from Hwy 412, but yet we are very secluded with a peaceful country setting.
What is the history of your venue? (How did it get started, etc.)
We realized that more and more couples were getting married at non-religious locations, about 75% was one statistic that I read. So we thought we would try to meet a need. We spent most of 2015 building the barn and actually finished hanging the chandelier on New Years Eve 2015. After that, we begin to advertise and considered ourselves open for business.
What are some of your wedding and reception options?
The great outdoors provides a glorious backdrop–and a wealth of decorating inspiration—for an unforgettable Blessing Barn wedding. Farm tables can be lined up on the lawn and cafe lights hung to invite a comfortable fun-loving time of food and fellowship. Or, you can set a beautiful white tent with draping, lights and round tables on the lawn for an elegant meal.
Inside the Blessing Barn, with the Post & Beam construction, you can decorate from barrels and hay bales to elegant draping and crystals, or anywhere in-between depending on your style. This barn venue can be dressed up or dressed down.
For the Ceremony, we have a large arbor that can be set up out on the lawn. Inside there are numerous ways to arrange the hall for the ceremony.
Does your venue require use of your preferred vendors, or are brides free to bring their own?
Our venue does not require you to use our vendors, brides are free to use whom ever they like.
